IPL 2023: Sourav Ganguly Compliments MS Dhoni’s Captaincy
The CSK skipper MS Dhoni has done it once again proving why he is still one of the best captains in the league. The team had a rough season post the mega auctions last time with a new skipper Ravindra Jadeja. Halfway through the season Jadeja decided to back off and MS Dhoni was reappointed as the captain. CSK made a great comeback this time not only finishing in the top 4 but also becoming this year’s first finalist.
The finals that the team will play on Sunday will be CSK’s 10th finals under MS Dhoni. While the Delhi Capitals may not have finished as well as they might have liked, Sourav Ganguly praised MS Dhoni. He mentioned that the skipper has been fantastic in his decision-making. Sourav Ganguly further added that Chennai Super Kings side has shown the capability of winning big-pressure games. In addition to this, he also expressed his opinion on the performances of the young players of this season.

This edition of IPL has seen MS Dhoni only play as the finisher. Owing to his knee ailment, the CSK skipper has found it difficult to run between the wickets. Moreover, with the speculations of MS Dhoni retiring after this season, the player can finish off with his head held high. The CSK skipper was asked about his retirement plans during the post-match presentation of Qualifier 1. Replying to which, MS Dhoni said, “I don’t know. I have 8-9 months to decide. The small auction will be around December. So why to take that headache right now? I have ample time to decide. But, I will always be there for CSK.”
