Rajasthan Royals’ opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler has been one of the best pairs of the season. While Jos has had a dull year compared to last year, nonetheless, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in terrific form. The young batter took the strike in the first over in the 150-run chase, he smashed Nitish Rana for 26 runs. He further went on to score the fastest 50 in the IPL history in merely 13 balls.

Yashasvi Jaiswal had a great day on the field but Jos Buttler who had scored 95 runs in the game before KKR was dismissed for a duck. On the 4th ball of the second over, Yashasvi Jaiswal made a wrong judgment and asked Buttler for a single. While the young opener was in the crease well in time, Jos fell just short, sacrificing his wicket. During the post-match press conference, he acknowledged that the veteran England batter lost his wicket in confusion. He also added that his captain Sanju Samson gave him confidence asking him to not think about the run-out.

“I learn a lot from Jos bhai but today because of my wrong call he had to sacrifice his wicket and I respect that a lot. We all know it happens in the game, nobody does it on purpose. He (on Sanju) told me don’t worry, keep playing your game, you are in nice touch,” Yashasvi Jaiswal said. Speaking about facing Nitish Rana in the first over he acknowledged that he wasn’t surprised to see him bowl.

“No, I wasn’t surprised. Because I knew that they can use spinners with the new ball on this wicket. But when I saw Nitish bhai come and bowl, I was trying to score run and I backed myself to hit the shots. I had the intent to hit sixes but it’s okay, my focus was to guide my team to victory. I was trying this for quite some time that if I’m at the crease, I finish the job and today I had the same thing on my mind,” he added. Yashasvi Jaiswal concluded his interaction by mentioning that his intent changes as per the game and explained that he has learned a lot from the big names including the likes of MS Dhoni, Jos Buttler, and others.
