Rajasthan Royals took on defending Champions in a crucial match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium as they must have expected Jos Buttler to provide them a good start. However, the English batter failed to provide them the kind of start they were looking for.

Jos Buttler’s lean run in IPL 2023 continues in GT vs RR clash

The RR batter faced three dot balls in the first over bowled by Mohammed Shami as he was beaten twice and defended one of the deliveries. Gujarat Titans’ skipper Hardik Pandya came in to bowl the second over of Rajasthan Royals’ innings and looked to attack Jos Buttler.

Buttler got consecutive boundaries off the first two deliveries he faced against Hardik but didn’t look convincing at all. On the 4th delivery of his over, Hardik Pandya bowled a back-of-the-length delivery which moved further away after pitching.

The RR batter went for a backfoot drive but could only manage an outside edge. Hardik Pandya had perfectly placed a fielder at short third man and the ball reached there as Mohit Sharma took a simple catch to dismiss Jos Buttler as his terrible run in IPL 2023 continued.

In his last six innings, the star RR batter has returned with scores of 0, 40, 0, 27, 18, and 8. While Jos Buttler has scored 297 runs at a strike rate of 138.78, he has failed to create the impact which he is otherwise known for.

Jos Buttler’s last 4 innings have come at a strike rate of less than 100 which has led his side to lose momentum in IPL 2023. After the dismissal of Buttler, Rajasthan Royals didn’t get any big individual scores as the Sanju Samson-led side could only post a below-par total of 118 runs in the GT vs RR clash.
