Ambati Rayudu announces his IPL retirement ahead of IPL 2023 Final
“2 great teams mi nd csk,204 matches,14 seasons,11 playoffs, 8 finals, 5 trophies. hopefully 6th tonight. It’s been quite a journey. I have decided that tonight’s final is going to be my last game in the Ipl. i truly hav enjoyed playing this great tournament. Thank u all. No u turn,” Ambati Rayudu tweeted at 5:40 PM.
Rayudu was picked by CSK ahead of the 2018 season in the mega auction where he recorded his best IPL season with 602 runs in 16 innings at an average of 43. He also recorded his best of 100 not out in the same edition and made some crucial partnerships as an opener along with Shane Watson.

Ambati Rayudu was also part of the winning team in 2021 as well, which saw Rayudu hitting at a strike rate of 151.17 in 16 matches. This year he has played some cameos for the CSK side mostly as the Impact Player.
Rayudu had announced his IPL retirement last year after his fifth season with CSK. “I am happy to announce that this will be my last ipl. I have had a wonderful time playing it and being a part of 2 great teams for 13 years. Would love to sincerely thank Mumbai Indians and Csk for the wonderful journey,” he had tweeted last year.
The CSK batter had deleted the post within an hour after intervention from the CSK management and MS Dhoni. However, this time he has specifically mentioned that he won’t take any U Turn.
