He made his debut last season and left an immediate impact. The left-arm seamer was one of the finds of the tournament, having picked up 14 wickets in 9 matches at an average of 14.07 and an economy rate of 5.96. He not only picked wickets but also troubled the batters with his searing pace and good variations with the white ball. It was quite evident that batters were struggling to pick him out of the hand. After a breakthrough season, he was retained by the franchise.

Head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants and Zimbabwe legend Andy Flower said that the absence of Mohsin is a blow to the side. He also said that the team management is still hoping to have him at some stage of the tournament, while also admitting that he has written Mohsin off in terms of selection. If Mohsin manages to make a comeback which is highly unlikely then it will be a bonus for the KL Rahul-led team.
IPL 2023: “It’s a Blow,” LSG Head Coach on Mohsin’s Absence
“It is a blow not having him, there is no doubt about that. We are hoping that he might come good towards the end of the tournament. But, quite frankly, I had pretty much written him off as a selection option, and if he becomes fit at some stage during the tournament, I see that very much as a bonus. But I am certainly not expecting that. So, whether we are weak at the death or in the middle overs, we shall soon see. I don’t think that’s accurate,” said Andy Flower.

Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants will face Delhi Capitals in the third game of the IPL 2023 on Saturday, April 1 at their home ground- Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. In their first season, LSG fared well, winning nine of 14 league games, and qualified for the playoffs before losing in the all-important Eliminator. This year, LSG will look to win their maiden IPL title and given the balance of their squad, there is no doubt why they can’t do it.
