CSK Pacers conceded 18 extras against the Lucknow Super Giants. They bowled 13 wides and 3 no-balls. While the KL Rahul-led side got off to a flying start, these extras made things even easier for them specifically during the power play.

MS Dhoni certainly looked unimpressed with his bowlers bowling so many extras even though his side went on to win the game. In the post-match press conference, the CSK skipper was asked about the extras bowled by his pacers after which he came up with a blunt statement.

“Fast bowling we need to slightly improve. Need to bowl according to the conditions. What is important is to keep an eye as to what the opposition bowlers are doing,” MS Dhoni said in the post-match press conference.

“One more thing is they’ll have to bowl no no-balls or extra wides. Need to cut them out otherwise they’ll be playing under a new captain. It will be my second warning and then I’ll be off,” the CSK skipper further added.

CSK pacer Tushar Deshpande leaked 18 runs in his first over against the LSG opening pair of Kyle Mayers and KL Rahul. While he made a decent comeback in the death overs, he bowled a few extras which proved to be costly for the CSK franchise.

Young Rajvardhan Hangargekar too bowled three wides in a single over. The lack of discipline from young CSK pacers could have cost them the game if their batters had not posted a massive total of 217 runs while batting first after losing the toss.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 12 runs courtesy of some brilliant bowling by their spinner. Moeen Ali took four crucial wickets for his side turning the game on his head. Mitchell Santner too chipped in with a wicket while giving away just 21 runs.
