IPL 2023: ‘Hopefully, I Play This Entire Season And Year Injury Free’: Deepak Chahar

“I know how to deal with injuries, but this time it was longer. It was at least eight months. For a fast bowler, coming back from an injury is a difficult task. Hopefully, I don’t get it again and I play this entire season and year injury-free. I have been lucky to be part of a good team and environment if you have an environment where everyone supports each other. And if you are always talking about winning the tournament. That’s where you reach and win the finals.”

Chahar told CSK TV

He said being part of a squad like CSK made him feel incredibly privileged. He continued by saying that a team would reach the finals and win if it had a positive environment and constantly discussed winning the title.

Deepak Chahar played a crucial role in CSK’s successful 2021 IPL title defense grabbing 14 wickets in 14 games. For INR 14 crore, CSK acquired him in the 2022 auction. He has been with the four-time champions since 2016, which is noteworthy.

The defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated CSK in the IPL 2023 season opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31. On Monday, April 3, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and MS Dhoni’s squad will square off at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. On the other hand, Lucknow had an impressive tournament debut after defeating Delhi Capitals in their opening game.

Deepak Chahar’s Experience With Dwayne Bravo

To maintain their winning streak and move up the standings, the KL Rahul-led team will want to defeat CSK. Because this would be CSK’s first home game of the year, supporters will be eager to see Dhoni in what is reportedly his final IPL season. To improve his bowling, particularly his death bowling, Deepak Chahar noted that their bowling coach Dwayne Bravo has been very useful to the bowlers.

Also, according to Chahar, Bravo’s experience will benefit the team’s young fast bowlers. In addition to claiming that the recently restored stadium looks fantastic, Deepak Chahar highlighted his eagerness to play in the illustrious MA Chidambaram Stadium, where the squad has a greater victory than any other home team in IPL history.
