CSK lost wickets at regular intervals. They were at 113/6 in 15 overs. Dhoni came to the crease when CSK needed 63 runs off 30 balls. MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja added 59 runs off 30 balls but couldn’t finish the game. Dhoni remained unbeaten on 32 off 17, while Jadeja scored 25 off 15 balls. Earlier, the CSK skipper was felicitated by the franchise for leading CSK in the 200 IPL game.

He almost pulled off a brilliant chase in his 200th game as a CSK skipper but fell short by three runs. After the match, when asked about the game and how he felt about his 200th game as a captain, Dhoni said, “I really didn’t know it was my 200th, and milestones don’t really matter for me, it is about how you’re performing and the results.”

However, at the toss, he said, “It feels good and also I feel the crowd has been fantastic. Also, the fact that we started in the old stadium, it was very hot and humid. But now it feels like we’re playing in Switzerland. It’s good to play.”

Furthermore, MSD also spoke about some errors made by the team that cost them the match. He said that there were too many dot balls and batters didn’t rotate strikes much.
