The former RCB skipper has rediscovered his form and he’s looking as dangerous as ever. Ahead of the IPL 2023, Kohli insists that he’s likely to get back to his best in the upcoming season of the IPL. Kohli feels that if he can have a good IPL then it will help his team.

“Staying away from the game helped me. That helped me rediscover the excitement and love for the game. When I came back, everything was an opportunity, nothing was pressure. The results followed. I was able to play well in T20Is, ODIs, and recently in the Test series as well. I’m back to playing the way I do, there’s still a lot of room to get to my best, which hopefully happens in the IPL if I get to the level I really want to play. That would help the team,” Virat Kohli said.

Kohli has come a long way since his IPL debut and is currently one of the biggest stars in world cricket. He was appointed the captain of the Bangalore-based team in the 2013 season. His tenure lasted till the 2021 season, before stepping down from captaincy.

Known as the run machine, Kohli has consistently performed with his bat in all IPL editions. The 34-year-old cricketer won the Orange cap for scoring the most runs in IPL 2016 with 973 runs, which remains the highest number of runs scored in a single season of IPL history. Despite scoring a truckload of runs, Kohli has never won an IPL trophy and he would love to end the title drought this year.
