RCB team management have a tedious task ahead of their first game against MI to pick their first XI. They certainly have a problem of plenty as they have got some really good names in their squad to choose from.

Meanwhile, Wanindu Hasaranga will remain unavailable for the first few games as he’s part of Sri Lanka’s squad for the ODI series vs New Zealand. All the other RCB players are available for selection right from the first match.

RCB VS MI: Here’s the probable XI of RCB for their first IPL 2023 game

1. Faf du Plessis

Faf was the highest run-getter for RCB in IPL 2022 and will look to do the same in IPL 2023. He has got enough experience as the opener as he played the same role for CSK in the previous few editions.

2. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli likes to open the innings in the shortest format and has done pretty well for RCB as their opener. As an opener, he has got the highest score of 113 runs.

3. Rajat Patidar

Patidar made his IPL debut in 2021 and has given strength to RCB’s batting lineup. He played a match-winning knock of 112 runs for his franchise in the previous edition.

4. Glenn Maxwell

Maxwell had a few quiet seasons before IPL 2022 where he was picked by RCB in the mega auction. However, he did pretty well for RCB in the previous season as a pinch hitter and has bowled decent off-spin as well.

5. Mahipal Lomror

The Rajasthan-based batter has got enough potential to play swashbuckling knocks for his side. He can bowl a few overs as a left-arm spinner too.

6. Dinesh Karthik

Karthik made his way back into the Indian side after performing consistently for RCB. He plays crucial quick-fire knocks and has shown tremendous temperament under pressure.

7. Shahbaz Ahmed

A quality left-arm spinner who can bat as a floater. He has got best figures of 3/7 playing for the Bangalore-based franchise.

8. David Willey

In the absence of Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey can play the role of bowling all-rounder perfectly. He gets decent swing with the new ball and can play a few handy shots in the lower order.

9. Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel will look to get his form back in IPL 2023 after losing his place in the Indian side. His best figures of 5/27 show his worth for the RCB team.

10. Mohammed Siraj

Siraj plays consistently for the Men in Blue now and has bowled multiple match-changing spells for the RCB. He will look to use the new ball effectively.

11. Josh Hazlewood

Australia’s premier did a great job for CSK in IPL 2021 after which RCB picked him in the mega auction. He performed really well for them as well and grabbed the best figures of 4/25.
