IPL 2023: 5 Current Indian T20I Regulars Who Have Failed to Create Impact So Far
IPL 2023 has been full of intense games and thrilling moments. The cash-rich league has witnessed some incredible individual performances but at the same time, there are a few Indian T20I regulars who have failed to create impact as per their potential.
Let’s have a look at the 5 current Indian T20I regulars who have disappointed the cricket fans so far in IPL 2023:
1. Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya is currently leading the Indian T20I side and has done exceptionally well for the Men in Blue in the recent past. However, he hasn’t reciprocated the same results in IPL 2023 for his side Gujarat Titans. The Gujarat Titans’ skipper has just taken 3 wickets till now in 10 games and hasn’t looked penetrating with the new ball. He has leaked quite a few runs in the powerplay as well.

Hardik Pandya hasn’t got much runs with the bat either. He has batted at No. 3 or No. 4 position in most of the times and hasn’t been able to finish the games like he used to do in the previous editions. His strike rate has also gone down in IPL 2023.
2. Umran Malik
Umran Malik is the new speed gun of Team India and has got enough opportunities for the Men in Blue in the last one year. The SRH pacer has scalped just 5 wickets in 7 matches in IPL 2023. He has leaked runs at an economy rate of 10.35.
Umran Malik has also lost his place in the playing XI of Sunrisers Hyderabad and got to bowl just 17 overs in the 7 games he played. His lines and lengths in IPL 2023 have been way off allowing opponent batters to score freely.
3. Washington Sundar
Washington Sundar just took 3 wickets in 7 games in IPL 2023 before getting ruled out due to a hamstring injury. He didn’t contribute much with the bat as well. All the 3 wickets he took came in the game against Delhi Capitals while he remained wicketless in all the other games. He leaked runs at an economy rate of 8.26.

4. Deepak Hooda
Deepak Hooda has been with the Indian T20I team for the last one year and has also smashed a ton against Ireland. However, his performance in IPL 2023 hasn’t been up to the mark for the Lucknow Super Giants. The LSG all-rounder has just scored 64 runs in 10 innings despite getting chance to bat in the top order most of the times. His strike rate is just 91.43 and hasn’t done much with the ball as well.
5. Rahul Tripathi
Rahul Tripathi has just scored 237 runs in 10 innings in IPL 2023 with an average of 26.33 and a strike rate of 127.41. These numbers don’t do justice to the standards he has set in the past couple of years. He has been dismissed mostly by pacers in this season and his failure with the bat hasn’t helped Sunrisers Hyderabad’s cause as they have just won 4 games till now.
