RCB vs MI: “We are third team to have qualified the most times in Playoffs”- Virat Kohli
It was a clinical performance from the home team. At one stage, they looked to get a 10-wicket win, but in order to up the ante, they lost two wickets. But still, they registered a comprehensive win, which might help them achieve a better NRR. After the win, the former RCB skipper spoke about the plan during the chase.

He said that the plan was clear: win with some overs to spare to improve the NRR. Virat highlighted that MI got the momentum they ended up with within the last two overs. He also thanked the support of the fans despite the performance. Virat said,
“Very important. We started off well, their support propelled us and that makes a massive difference. I wanted to mention this for a while – after MI who have five titles and CSK who have four, if I’m not wrong, we are the third team to have qualified the most times to the playoffs – eight times. Take one game at a time and try to be a balanced side which we are and we would look to execute our plans as we did tonight.”
Du Plessis won the “Player of the Match” award. RCB will now face the Kolkata Knight Riders in their second game on Thursday, April 9 at Eden Gardens. KKR lost their first game to Punjab Kings by 7 runs (DLS method).
