IPL 2023: Virat Kohli has been a consistent performer for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Sunil Gavaskar recently silenced the hateful people and gave heaps of praise to the former RCB captain, Virat Kohli.

Over these 15 years, he has played the perfect role of a batsman for the team. Be it in the middle order at the beginning of his career, in the top order, or now as an opening batsman, runs have always followed his bat, and Virat has consistently put a massive number of runs on the board for RCB.

With the success of a player, come the critics. These people continuously look for an opportunity to degrade and criticize their performance. The former Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar could not stop praising King Kohli in his recent interview.

The interview came as a response to the former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull. Simon criticized Virat for a slow knock against LSG after reaching the score of 40 to reach his half-century. He tried to degrade Kohli’s image for something he is famous for, scoring fiery knocks and being a selfless cricketer. Virat has always put forward the team’s interest over his ‘Personal Milestones’ as Doull suggested. The batsman is not only known to give others strikes but is also famous for appreciating others’ knocks.

IPL 2023: Sunil Gavaskar fires back

Virat Kohli silenced his haters after scoring a fiery knock against Delhi Capitals. Sunil Gavaskar defended Run-Machine-Kohli and gave him the credit for the huge scores RCB is being able to put on board this season. Virat is opening the innings in an aggressive style, much like his younger days, and has already scored three half-centuries in the four matches RCB has played so far. Sunil claimed that Virat’s flying starts are a good sign for RCB.

Mithali Raj on Virat Kohli

Former Women’s Indian Cricket Team skipper Mithali Raj also came in the support of Virat Kohli and said, “An opener setting the momentum for the team is important in T20s and Virat did just that against Delhi Capitals. Virat charges against the bowlers who are bowling at a speed of 140/150 kmph. He’s never bogged down by the bowlers. The strike rate with which he’s scoring runs in the middle will give the confidence to the other batters to do well when they step in.”

Virat and the RCB squad will be looking forward to their game against Chennai Super Kings on 17th April, 24th Match of TATA IPL 2023, Bengaluru.
