Riyan Parag, who can be a key contributor to RR’s success in IPL 2023, recently picked number 4 as his preferred batting position. However, he is open to batting wherever the team needs him to play.

Rajasthan Royals will kickstart their IPL 2023 campaign against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 2. Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Jason Holder are the three key all-rounders for RR who might get to play maximum games in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

“If they (RR) were to ask me where I want to bat, I would say No. 4,” he said. “But, then, like always, I am open to bat wherever the team needs me and wherever they think I fit the best. It is a team game; whichever way the combinations match up, I am happy to contribute, ” Riyan Parag said to PTI.

“I had a very good domestic season and, in the buildup for the IPL, we have had a few camps in Jaipur. Everyone has looked in good touch with both the bat and the ball,” the Rajasthan Royals’ all-rounder further added.

Rajasthan Royals’ potential batting lineup for IPL 2023

Jos Buttler was in terrific form last year as an opener as he went on to score 863 runs and win the orange cap. Rajasthan Royals will hope Buttler continues from where he left in the last season. Young Yashasvi Jaiswal will probably bat along with Buttler as the second opener as he has been in excellent form in the domestic circuit. Devdutt Padikkal can fill up the number three spot.

Skipper Sanju Samson will play at number 4 or he can even promote himself to the third position in some games. With 2 left-handed batters and 2 right-handed batters in the top 4, Rajasthan Royals have got a great combination.

Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer are the contenders for the fifth and sixth slots in the Rajasthan Royals’ batting lineup. The RR team management will have to ponder whether they want young Riyan Parag as the finisher at number 6 or bat him up at the number 5 position.
