The four-time champions’ defense of the objective by MS Dhoni’s team was thwarted by star Indian batter Shubman Gill’s outstanding performance. Parthiv Patel, the former cricketer for India, spoke up after Gujarat’s victory in the season-opening match to discuss Gill’s performance against Chennai Super Kings.

“The Target Was Below Par”: Parthiv Patel

“The target was below par on this wicket, so a strong start is essential. I think the Gujarat Titans got that and kept the momentum. Shubman Gill did what we know Shubman Gill can do and carried over his international form into the IPL. We may see a 600-run season from Shubman Gill. It seemed like Ruturaj Gaikwad was batting on a different wicket than the other batsmen. The approach he used is extremely praiseworthy.”

Parthiv Patel was quoted as saying on JioCinema.

The 38-year-old Parthiv Patel discussed various subjects, including Ruturaj Gaikwad’s thunderous knock during the game. He contributed significantly to Chennai, scoring 178 runs in the first innings by scoring 92 runs off 50 deliveries.

Gaikwad scored the most runs during the contest and will attempt to improve his performance from the opening game in the next games. Chennai Super Kings will face the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants on Monday, April 3, after losing the season opener against Gujarat. The upcoming match will take place in Chennai, featuring Super Kings.

Rituraj Gaikwad’s Perforamance

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s courageous 92 points for Chennai helped Gujarat set a target of 179. Still, the defending champions secured a victory thanks to Shubman Gill’s 63 and late cameos from Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia. During the chase, Wriddhiman scored 25 runs off 16 balls, and Vijay Shankar (27) also made a significant contribution. Rajvardhan Hangargekar secured three wickets for CSK in the meantime.

Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 92 runs off 50 balls for CSK as they first posted 178/7 in 20 overs. Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, and Alzarri Joseph each claimed two wickets for GT’s bowling unit. With 483 runs, Gill finished fifth in the Orange Cap race last year. Ahead of the 2019 50-Over World Cup, he will look to improve that performance. After a strong opening, GT will play Delhi Capitals on April 4 in New Delhi.
