Axar Patel and Yashasvi Jaiswal move to career-best rankings after brilliant performances in T20Is vs AFG
The T20 World Cup 2024 is just a few months away, and all the teams are preparing for the mega event. The coming tournament will start on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies. There will be a total of 20 teams in the competition, and four groups will be divided into five teams each. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Axar Patel moves to career-best rankings in T20I cricket
Team India are playing a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan and have already won it. Some of the Indian players have done a pretty good job and have been rewarded. Spin all-rounder Axar Patel, who had pretty good games, registered 2/23 and 2/16 in two matches. As a result, Axar jumped two places up to 16th in the all-rounder rankings. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal also gained in the latest rankings.
Jaiswal played the second game and smashed a brilliant half-century. With his 34-ball 68, he moved seven spots up to 6th place in the latest rankings. Jaiswal is one of the three batters in the top ten for India. Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has been out of action due to injury, slipped to 9th place. Suryakumar Yadav is at the top of the table with a 67-point gap from second-ranked Phil Salt.
Mohammad Rizwan is third. Babar Azam, who has smashed three consecutive half-centuries in the ongoing series, has moved one place up to fourth place. On the other hand, Axar has made a big jump of 12 spots to enter the top 10 in bowling. He is now at fifth in the bowlers’ rankings. England’s Adil Rashid is at the top of the rankings. Team India will play the third and final T20I against Afghanistan on Wednesday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. They have a 2-0 unassailable lead, and they will eye a 3-0 white-wash.
