In the first game of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Hyderabad, the power-packed duo added 85 runs, while in the last game against Delhi Capitals (DC), they added 98 runs inside nine overs. Being naturally aggressive, Jaiswal enjoys batting with an aggressive mindset. The Royals team management has given the freehand to Jaiswal so that he can go berserk at the top of the order. Speaking to the news agency PTI in an interview, Jaiswal said that playing and learning with Buttler has helped him immensely to improve his game. Jaiswal also revealed that everyone in the team understands their role and all of them will be pushing to play in their second consecutive final.
IPL 2023: Jaiswal Happy to Learn from Buttler
“In the powerplay, as Jos bhai always says, we have to have good intent and cricketing shots. I just try and follow that. I keep learning from him, different shots and (having) different mindsets which has really helped me to improve my game as a player. The best thing was the environment we had. Everyone was aware of their roles and was trying to follow that. We kept backing and supporting each other and giving it our all to achieve one goal. We are trying to the same this year and try our best (to make the final),” said Yashasvi Jaiswal ahead of their game against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

At times, it has been Buttler who has been in aggressive mode, while at other times, Jaiswal has taken the game to the opposition. It is quite evident both the batters complement each other really well and that has worked wonders for them. Batting alongside one of the best white-ball batters in the game-Buttler has really helped Jaiswal to add different dimensions to his game.
