The DC skipper looked good at the start and took on the aggressor role. He scored a quick 46 off 31, with five fours and two sixes. He was the first man to go for DC, with an incredible diving catch by Shikhar Dhawan. However, Warner made a huge record before getting dismissed. With his 46-run knock, the southpaw crossed the 400-run mark in the ongoing season.

He has scored 430 runs this season at an average and strike rate of 33.08 and 128.74. Warner has also scored five half-centuries. With this, he became only the fourth batter in the IPL to score 400 or more runs in nine seasons. Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan, and Virat Kohli are the other three batters to do so. The southpaw holds the record for most IPL half-centuries (60) as well.

He has been the standout performer for the franchise this season, despite a poor show by the team. Speaking of the game, Shaw also played a good inning of 54 runs. In reply, Punjab reached 198/8 in their chase and lost the game by 15 runs. For the home team, Liam Livingstone played a heroic inning of 94 off 48 but couldn’t finish it for his team.
