Chennai Super Kings’ star batter Ambati Rayudu has announced that the IPL 2023 Final against Gujarat Titans will be his last game in the cash-rich league. Rayudu has been one of the most underrated batters of the modern day Indian cricket as he rarely gets enough credit for his performance.

The star batter has played for the two most successful sides in the history of IPL i.e. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. He made his IPL debut in 2010 representing the Mumbai Indians and was with them till IPL 2017. He was then picked by MS Dhoni-led CSK side ahead of IPL 2018 and has played for them for 6 seasons.

Chennai Super Kings were 116/4 when Rayudu joined hands with star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Rayudu’s half-century ensured that Chennai finished with 218/4 on the scoreboard even though Jadeja managed to play a run-a-ball innings.

Mumbai Indians had to chase down a 190-run target in 14.3 overs against the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2014 to qualify for the playoffs. They were once placed at a score of 108/4 when Rayudu joined Corey Anderson in the middle.

The MI batter smacked a 10-ball 30, whacking 5 fours and a six. He got run-out before scoring the winning runs, but youngster Aditya Tare smacked a six on the next ball and took MI into the playoffs.

Ambati Rayudu made his IPL debut on March 13, 2010 for the Mumbai Indians against the Rajasthan Royals at the Brabourne Stadium. Batting at number 5 in his maiden IPL innings he smashed a fifty against the RR side. He smashed 6 fours and 2 sixes during his heroic knock.

IPL 2018 was the best season of Rayudu’s career and he batted mostly as an opener. He made his debut for the CSK side that season and revived his career with some sensational batting performances at the top of the order.

He scored an unbeaten 62-ball 100 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Pune on May 13. His knock consisted of 7 fours and 7 sixes. Ambati Rayudu’s century helped CSK chase down a 180-run target with one over to spare.
