England faced a significant setback in their quest to win the second Test against India in Vishakhapatnam as captain Ben Stokes was run out by Shreyas Iyer’s exceptional fielding effort on day four.England went into the day on 67 for 1 and still had that daunting 399-run target on them. They looked promising but fizzled out with the likes of Rehan Ahmed and Zak Crawley getting in before getting dismissed too quickly, after which England were on 154 for 4.

Crawley reached his fifty, and Bairstow looked to be settling down well when both the batsmen fell in quick succession to see England slide down to 194 for 6 at lunch. Coming in after the break, Ben Stokes and Ben Foakes built the score carefully to pass 200 but were stopped by the fielding prowess of Shreyas Iyer. England are currently at 220 for 7, with Foakes and Tom Hartley on the crease. Earlier in the game, India posted 396 in their first innings, with a double century by Yashasvi Jaiswal. India were then bowled out for 255 in the second innings, after England were dismissed for 253 runs in their first innings. The win has now given England a 1-0 series lead going into the second Test.
