IND vs ENG: Team India are on tour of South Africa for a multi-format series where they will play three T20Is, three ODIs, and two tests. After this tour, India will host England for a high-voltage five-match test series. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced England’s 16-member squad for the upcoming test series in India on Monday. It saw three uncapped stars get their maiden test calls.

On the other hand, it also saw James Anderson get selected for the India tour. The veteran pacer is likely to have his final India’s tour, and the fans will see the glimpses of him during the series. It will be another episode of Virat Kohli and Anderson’s rivalry, which will set the stakes very high for the series. But the pacer is on the verge of creating a record ahead of the series.

The evergreen pacer James Anderson will be touring India for the record sixth time in his glorious career. With this, the 41-year-old pacer will become the oldest pacer to play a test match on Indian soil. He will be the joint-fourth-oldest player to play a test in India after John Traicos (45), Amir Elahi (44), Harry Elliott (42) and Vinoo Mankad (41).

Not just this, Anderson is also on the verge of becoming only the third bowler to take 700 wickets in the longest format. He has taken 690 wickets so far in 183 games at an average of 26.42, including 32 fifers. The pacer needs another 10 wickets to reach that magical figure. He is only behind Shane Warne (708) and Muthiah Muralidaran (800) on the list of most test wickets. He will also become the first pacer with 700 test wickets.

On the other hand, if he can take 19 wickets in the series, he will surpass Warne and become the second-highest wicket-taker in test cricket. Though it looks unlikely that he will play all five games, nothing can be said. Anderson has always enjoyed bowling against Team India. He has taken most test wickets. In 35 tests, he has taken 139 wickets. The pacer can also become the first bowler to take 150 test wickets against India.
